One of my favorite spots in Seattle is Seward Park. There's a stunning view of our mountain from the south shore. On one visit, I saw a father and his two children playing on the water's edge, surrounded by birds, silhouetted by the sun. The dramatic scene stayed with me, calling out for a painting.
