Were you blown away by poet Amanda Gorman's message and presence at the 2021 Presidential Inauguration Ceremony? I was.
Her poise, beauty, and skill inspired me to paint her portrait in watercolor.
Brave Enough to Be It was one of the powerful statements in her inauguration day poem. The statement reminds me to be an engaged citizen and to be authentic to myself. Wanting to share her genius with my friends, I designed the bag for them from my painting.
The painting itself is on display at Market Street Shoes in Seattle's Ballard neighborhood through 11/4/22.
